This campaign is a total rebrand of the cosmetic company Black Girl Sunscreen. The purpose of this campaign was to literally bring the brand into the sunlight.


Sun Protection for Brown Skin

This carousel creates a fun summery vibe that departs from the previous black and gold color scheme. This brand is about celebrating your skin, and the best way to do that is by protecting it. This carousel ad highlights the benefits of sunscreen for your skin while showing the 100% transparency the product is known for.

In celebration of the Summer Season, I have created special edition packaging. This was designed to match the updated branding while still maintaining the original. Sunscreen must be reapplied every 80 minutes to maintain its potency. For that reason, I have also created a limited edition sunscreen key chain adorned with gold charms. These sunscreen chains will be given away to the first 100 customers who purchase during the summer kick-off sale.

This small five-by-five booklet would be given away in the packaging of online orders and placed in Ulta display cases. This booklet is a mix of photos and facts about sun protection for melanated skin. The purpose of this book is to counter the narrative that melanated people don't need sun protection because they don't burn easily. This is also aimed at sharing the benefits of BGS products.
